Amgen Tour of CaliforniaAs if they couldn't have planned it better, the Amgen Tour of California will make a quite an appearance in and around Los Angeles this week as well. Started in 2006, the 2014 8 stage race will come to town on Friday with a 94 mile leg starting in Santa Clarita and concluding with a mountain top finish at the Mt. High ski resort. Saturday, the professional riders will ride nearly 89 miles from Santa Clarita into scenic Pasadena. The race concludes with a scenic and challenging final day with four circuits including the Rock Store climb up Mulholland Drive. Many top pros from both here and abroad are out to get a warm welcome to the some of the states most challenging rides. Absent from the race this year are any climbs in the Sierras; however, the riders won't be cheated out of any beauty as the race makes its way down the coast from Sacramento.
