What drives your competitive spirit?

The fun of it I think. There are other paddlers, like Zeb Walsh, Mikey Cote, Eric Abbott, Mark Rocheleau, Shane Scoggins, Brad Gaul. These are some really fast, paddlers and when I paddle with them, it makes me want to go faster. But I also love racing to hangout with people I don't always get to be in the ocean with.

What athlete inspires you the most and why?

Kai Lenny is someone I look up to, because he just absolutely kills it on whatever craft he gets on.

What’s in or on your car right now?

swim fins, a GoPro... and my dive gear and spear gun. I've been checking the water for the past week, but haven't got in to dive, and still haven't taken it out.

If you could go anywhere this weekend, where would you go and what/who will you bring?

I would go back to Canada. I just got back from an amazing trip this past week with Morgan Hoesterey and George Plsek and Roch Frey, and it was awesome. Beautiful, clean, and amazing scenery. I would go to the northern part of Vancouver Island, and surf, fish, watch bears and orcas all day.

What do you prefer, Lone Wolf or Group Training?

Group training for sure. Its way better with friends, easier to motivate.

What is your best racing moment?

Hanging out with Zeb Walsh mid channel in Molokai the last 2 years, and then beating him and losing to him by less than a minute both years. And every Catalina Classic.

What race are you training for at the moment?

Training for Molokai right now, as well as the Classic. See what happens, there are some very fast paddlers these days.
